Invasive Exotic Plant Surveys and Control
Invasion by non-native species is widely recognized as one of the greatest threats to native bio-diversity and natural
ecosystems.
We provide services to survey and inventory exotic plant species and make recommendations
for control.
We specialize in the control of invasive exotic plants using a variety of methods.
We use manual, mechanical, cultural (burning, flooding), and herbicides.
We use herbicides in
a very thoughtful way, at the right time of the year, carefully selecting the most appropriate herbicide for the task at hand.
We take pride in our ability to remove every
exotic invasive at the site, not just the common or easily visible ones. We are commited to follow up visits to the
site to ensure we have achieved the desired control.
Native
Plant Restoration
To restore a significantly
altered site we do what is necessary to recreate the natural system in form and function. Once reintroduced and established,
native plants form self-sustaining plant communities that do not require maintenance.
We provide design
and installation services using local seed sources to maximize successful restoration. We believe that the greater the
diversity of the plants we install, the better the chances for successful ecosystem restoration.
We guarantee the successful
establishment of the plants and revisit sites to monitor each project's progress.
Tree Surveys & Hazard Tree Evaluations
We provide comprehensive tree management
services pre-development, during construction and post-development. We provide detailed evaluations of trees to planners,
engineers and landscape architects.
Residential hazard tree
evaluations are an important tool for homeowners to manage and care for trees in their yards. Independent evaluation
and recommendations by our Certified Arborist provide homeowners the information necessary to develop a scope of tree work
and hire a qualified tree surgeon.
Wetland Determination and Delineation
We provide services to establish the existence and and physical limits of of a wetland for
purposes of local, state and federal regulations. Wetland Delineation involves three components, clearly marked wetland
boundaries in the field, a map that clearly identifies data collection points and the boundaries of the delineated wetland,
and a detailed report that explains how the boundary was determined.
Biological Inventories
We
conduct biological inventories involving field surveys for rare plants and animals and other species of conservation concern,
sensitive habitats and other outstanding features.
