Mission Statement
- To offer professional environmental consulting
and contract services to our clients
- To maintain and create healthy, sustainable, diverse natural ecosystems
- To serve and educate our community
- To provide safe working conditions
for our employees and continuous training opportunities
History Kestrel Ecological Services was founded in 2007 by Michael Meisenburg and Erick Smith.
Michael and Erick met in 2004 when both were graduate students of Professor Alison Fox at the University of Florida.
Prior to 2007 they collaborated on many projects involving exotic invasive species research and control. Their collaboration
and an increasing number of requests for their expertise led to the formation of Kestrel Ecological Services. Current Operations Michael and Erick both work directly in the field on every project. Their academic backgrounds combined with
32 years of extensive field experience gives them the detailed knowledge to provide hands-on expertise and detailed attention
to every job. Both maintain close ties to the University of Florida and are members of the Florida Native Plant Society,
Audubon of Florida, and the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council. Michael and Erick are supported in the field by a staff of
highly trained personnel.
